Why were you interested in the Educational Research + MUSE Leader internship?
I was interested in this internship because of my former experience as a MUSE (Museum University Student Educator). Prior to this position, I had been a MUSE twice. Through that experience, I knew I could do so much more in this position by working with MUSEs, as well as creating a better connection to the community, which gave me new skills to better understand education and diverse demographics. I also wanted to gain new educational skills that I could continue using in my career when I become an art educator.
What excites you about interning at the Harn?
Something that excites me about the Harn is the constant new events that they put on. It is so fun getting to attend free events in a space where art is held. I also find it fun getting to do many activities based on artworks. My favorite part is being able to learn and create!
Do you collect anything?
I collect Smiski’s. They are small little green guys that come in blind boxes. I also enjoy the thrill of finding the secret ones, since they are based on famous artworks.
Have you had a favorite moment at the Harn during your internship?
My favorite moment at the Harn during my internship would probably be seeing the fruits of my labor in Museum Nights! I have put so much thought, research and planning into it all, so it was great to see it come to fruition .
What’s your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus would have to be Pony Field, where the Florida Gator Marching Band rehearses. This will be my third-year marching trumpet with the band, and I’m fortunate to serve as a Section Leader this upcoming year. It’s so much fun to be in the heart of UF culture. Catch me out on the field every game day the next time you watch a Gators football game!
