Rhapsody (noun) ˈrap-sə-dē: A highly emotional utterance; a musical composition of irregular form having an improvisatory character.

Join in our summer wrap party, August Rhapsody, to energize you through the last bit of summer! We’re celebrating a wind-down to the summer season with a set of improv performances, art activities and light refreshments. As Taylor Swift put it “August is slipping away into a moment in time.” That doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the last of our artsy “BRAT summer,” at the Harn.

Activities include:

  • Seeing rare archival photographs and artwork from community members of the Porters Quarters community. Artists and community leaders will speak at 7:15 pm. “Resilient Reflections: Honoring the Legacy and Spirit of the Porters Quarters” is presented by WeCAN (Community Art Narrative Project).
  • Performances by UF School of Music musicians inspired by works of art.
  • Create a cyanotype print to take home with the Harn MUSEs (Museum University Student Educators)
  • Summertime Blues Scavenger Hunt
  • Art Blast Tours of current exhibitions

Generous support for Art After Dark | Museum Nights is provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, a private grant, UF Student Government and UF Office of the Provost.
