We invite you to celebrate our shared creativity and hope at “Museum Nights: Finding Silver Linings!” Immerse yourself into a fun evening of activities surrounded by Silver Linings: Celebrating the Spelman Art Collection. This exhibition raises visibility of the work of 28 Black artists from the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art. The Harn is one of five venues across the US exhibiting this travelling exhibition. Visit with onsite Artist-in-Residence Jessica Clermont as she creates art within her gallery space in the exhibition.
Experience this fun-filled night where art becomes “the language of feeling and passion, of mystery and majesty” (artist Henry Ossawa Tanner). Inspired by the exhibition, you’ll find art-making activities, gallery talks, and community partners. Along with special participation by UF’s Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Other activities for the night include E. Stanley Richardson Bard & Broadside North Central Florida Poetry Festival and the presentation of the winners of our Words on Canvas writing competition!
Generous support for the exhibition is provided by Art Bridges.
Generous support for Art After Dark is provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program and a private grant.
Museum Nights are also sponsored by UF Student Government and the Office of the Provost.
