Dunning, Professor of Black Studies and English, Department of Sexuality, Women, and Gender Studies, University of Rochester, with The Future Will Not Be Mechanized: The Ontology of the Ship in Tade Thompson’s “Rosewater” and Octavia Butler’s “Dawn.” Dr. Dunning will speak live via video connection from University of Rochester, discussing Afro and African Futurism in major works of science fiction.
