Tibetan monk and artist, Lama Tashi Norbu
Join world renowned Tibetan monk and artist, Lama Tashi Norbu, for the creation of a sacred Sand Mandala. Community members and students will all have a chance to learn and participate in the creation of this piece of art over the course of two days.
March 8, 2 – 4 pm and March 9, 2 – 5 pm.
Surrealism “New York Times” Article
Surrealism turns 100 this year, and our exhibition “Surrealism at the Harn: A Centennial Exhibition” made the New York Times list of exhibitions to see. Curated by University of Florida Professor of Art History Dr. Rachel Silveri and her UF School of Art + Art History students, this exhibition brings visibility to UF and Gainesville being one of only two U.S. exhibitions mentioned. Harn Provides Paid Internships for all Student Interns
For the first time in the museum’s history, the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida will provide funding to every college student intern selected in the spring, summer and fall semesters of 2024. This funding is made possible by a private grant complementing the generosity of individual donors enabling the Harn to provide students with opportunities to explore future careers and pursue their passions, while also receiving compensation. With the community and University of Florida’s support, the Harn plans to continue paid internships for all college students beyond 2024.
